Meet Dr. May
Dr. May opened his practice in Mandeville, Louisiana, with
an emphasis on comprehensive aesthetic reconstructive dentistry.
He feels that his office should be a high tech arts facility.
Dr. May stays active with several professional organizations
including the American Dental Association, Louisiana Dental
Association, Northlake Dental Association, American Academy
of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, and
the Christian Medical and Dental Association. Dr. May currently
serves as President-Elect of the Northlake Dental Association
and also is the New Dentist Committee Chairman for the Louisiana
Dental Association. He also serves as a regional director
for the Louisiana State Fluoridation Advisory Board and is
focused on bringing fluoridation to the water supply on the
North Shore. It is very important to Dr. May to stay up to
date on the latest advances in dentistry attending over 100
hours a year of continuing education so that he can offer
his patients the best treatment available. He has attended
the world renowned Las Vegas Institute on comprehensive aesthetic
dentistry. He does volunteer dentistry for the local Samaritan
Center and also participates in the Give Back a Smile program
for victims of domestic violence.
Dr. Gregg May grew up in the New Orleans area and decided to plant roots on the North Shore after completing his education. Dr. May received his undergraduate degree from Northeast Louisiana University in Pre-dentistry and then went on to pursue his Doctorate in Dental Surgery at the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry. While in dental school, Dr. May received several honors and awards in restorative dentistry. Because of the recognition that Dr. May received, he quickly realized that the focus of his practice should be in the area of aesthetic restorative dentistry. He has been featured in Sophisticated Woman and several leading publications. Most recently he is the expert dentist on a new makeover show airing nationally called Ambush Makeover.
In his spare time, Dr. May enjoys several hobbies. He is an active triathlete pursuing Ironman Hawaii, golf, and playing guitar and spending time with his two sons. He considers himself a technology junkie and is fascinated with the role of computers in his profession. He is a member of St. Timothy United Methodist Church. He and his wife have a four year old son named Gavin and a five month old son named Jace. He rides yearly with the Krewe of Orpheus during Mardi Gras festivities. One of his greatest satisfactions in his life is his ability to change people’s lives by restoring their mouth with a stunning smile.
